JUNGLE TOURS

[Visit Yuturi] [Pañacocha ] [Cuyabeno National Park] [Amarongachi] [ Bellavista ] [ Huaorani Río Quehueire One ]

We invite you visit the Ecuadorian Amazon Jungle to enjoy the unique wild rainforest, considered the "lungs of the world". This beautiful place, including the Amazon River, was first discovered and posessed by Ecuador in 1534.

There was a legend about "El Dorado" or a place full of gold and richness, which motivated Francisco Pizarro from Quito and Francisco de Orellana from Guayaquil to organize the first Spanish expedition to the Amazon Jungle. They first arrived in Coca at Napo River. Here, Pizarro stayed while Orellana went down the Napo River looking for food, but due to much hardship he decided not to return to Coca and instead to follow the Napo river to reach the Atlantic Ocean. While on this trip, he discovered the biggest river in the world, the Amazon, on February 12, 1542. From this time, the Amazon River became Ecuadorian territory.

We invite you now to travel in Orellana's footsteps and to see the Golden Country, El Dorado. Enjoy its lush vegetation and fauna...experience its magic!
